Teacher Training Program Overview

The Yintelligence teacher training curriculum is designed as a series of modules that allow students to build on their knowledge and specific areas of interest, at their own pace.

Each of the modules covers important theory behind yin and functional yoga, ranging from fundamentals to speciality topics - each exploring a very different modality and/or anatomical focus. The goal is for students to deepen their knowledge of skeletal variation and a functional approach to yoga, at the same time as honouring the more subtle inner practices of meditation, self-inquiry and psycho-spiritual development.

Graduates will leave with an intelligent, diverse and well-rounded toolkit that will provide them with the ability to skilfully practise and teach yin and functional yoga, whilst bringing the yoga traditions into a more modern and systematic approach, on the Path towards transforming the body, heart and mind.

This module is part of a 300hr yin and functional yoga certification, which is divided into six specialty modules. Upon graduation of each individual module, students may add the relevant hours towards their Continuing Education (CE) with the Yoga Alliance, or accumulate these hours towards Yintelligence’s 300hr certification.

Prerequisites:

  • Module 1 and 2 can be taken in any order. There are no prerequisites for these modules.

  • Module 3 - a foundational understanding of skeletal variation and a functional approach to yoga is required before taking this module, so that the content of this module is absorbed with greater ease. As such, module 1 is the recommended requirement before taking module 3. If you have not yet studied a functional approach, it is highly recommended to study Paul Grilley’s online course: The Functional Approach, prior to joining this module.

  • Modules 4-6 - these modules will focus on the subtle inner practices - NOT the study of the physical poses - so some knowledge in a functional approach to yin yoga is required. If no formal training has been taken, those with a minimum 2 years of regular yin yoga practice, will also be eligible to join.
