Residential Retreat Training, Portugal - 23-30th May 2025

After the success of this year’s residential retreat training at D’Alijo in Portugal (and everyone still raving about the food!), I am delighted to have booked our spot again next year during the Springtime, when the sun will be shining and the birds will be chirping.

The confirmed dates are 23-30th May.

Next year’s schedule will be refined to allow even more time during the day for rest and recuperation, ensuring we not only immerse ourselves in practice and study, but that there is plenty of time for swimming, hiking, massages, and overall rest and recuperation.

To ensure this training remains a personalised and intimate gathering, please note that the training will be limited to 20 students only.

About The Training

Once we have learned to cultivate body intelligence – understanding why and how to safely and effectively practice functional yin yoga - we can begin to explore the deeper, more subtle layers of our internal landscape.

In this training we will study the various inner methods complimented by our yin yoga practice – including yin and yang styles of meditation, pranayama and various creative visualization techniques - to enhance Qi flow, regulate the nervous system, train the mind and cultivate self-awareness.

Due to the sensitive nature of this inner work, we will learn how to practice and teach these techniques functionally, ensuring the techniques remain individualised, accessible and safe for all students.

Each day will include guided and unguided sitting practices, various inner methods combined with yin yoga, theoretical lectures as well as group reflection exercises.

Graduates will leave with the knowledge and skill to support themselves - as well as their students - in exploring the practice of yoga, beyond asana.

NOTE: In this module we will not study yin yoga theory, functional anatomy or how to approach the physical asanas. This training is for those who have already undertaken a functional yin yoga training or have a regular practice and know how to practice yin yoga safely.
